Head Duties of the Theoretical Sciences Branch

1. Hosting external lecturers to deliver lectures on specific subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students and proposing appropriate rewards in accordance with financial regulations.
2. Implementing decisions of the University Council and the College Council concerning the department.
3. Managing the department or branches from scientific, administrative, educational, cultural, financial, and technical aspects, as well as student affairs.
4. Supervising the teaching processes, teaching methods, and ensuring that faculty members fulfill their duties.
5. Preparing quarterly and annual scientific reports on the department’s activities and submitting them to the dean.
6. Developing student training programs.
7. Guiding university theses based on the development needs of the country.
8. Recommending the appointment of a department chairman and their deputy in their absence.
9. Forming the examination committee within the department.
10. Nominating postgraduate students applying for studies in the department or scientific branches, following approval by the scientific committee and alignment with the university’s admission criteria.
11. Recommending the addition, deletion, or modification of curriculum subjects for postgraduate students, aiming to enhance the academic level and keep pace with developments, subject to the College Council’s approval.
12. Presenting research to scientific committees for academic promotion and recognition.
13. Allocating students to training sites and distributing supervision among department staff, issuing necessary administrative orders accordingly.
14. Recommending the issuance of administrative orders related to academic assignments and additional lectures based on actual needs and compliance with university regulations, after approval by the College Council.
15. Supervising academic affairs of students at various stages of their studies.
16. Recommending experts for consideration in the academic promotions of department faculty.
17. Assigning any of the teaching staff to perform teaching duties as needed, regardless of the specific authority designated by other entities.
18. Approving teaching staff members to deliver lectures in programs or courses of other departments.
19. Approving the nomination of teaching staff members to participate in technical, administrative, and scientific committees.
20. Directing inquiries to teaching staff members in case of absence or lateness from lectures and resolving their inclinations.
21. Chairing the department’s scientific committee.
