A Specialized Lecture at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences titled “Methods and Techniques of Teaching Handball to Students in Schools”
The Division of Continuing Education at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Diyala, held a specialized lecture titled “Methods and Techniques of Teaching Handball to Students in Schools.” The lecture, delivered by Professor Dr. Hatem Shawkat Ibrahim, Professor Dr. Shorouk Mahdi Kadhim, and Assistant Professor Dr. Nizar Nadhim Hameed, aimed to familiarize students with modern studies and research focused on educational components and mental processes by moving away from traditional teaching methods where the student’s role is limited to receiving information.
The lecture sought to identify the most important educational tools, techniques, and methods that emphasize the learner’s role in facilitating the learning process and acquiring various skills. Modern teaching methods help achieve educational goals aimed at developing the student’s personality in all aspects. This learning comes through following scientific and organized methods in teaching approaches used by the instructor to engage the learner, highlight their positive role, and consequently increase their motivation.
Handball is one of the team sports with its own characteristics and objectives, incorporating various types of skills. It requires modern educational methods and techniques, with a need to focus on learning and developing performance levels.
